August 13, 2011

From the latest National Book Critics Circle newswire:

Freelancer Brad Tyer recently received a 2011 grant from the Fund for
Investigative Journalism to support research for his first book,
Opportunity, Montana: Copper, Cappuccino, and the Reinvention of Nature in
the Last Best Place, scheduled for publication by Beacon Press in Spring
2013. Tyer will discuss the work in progress at the Western Literature
Association’s annual conference in Missoula, Montana, October 5-8.

I’ll also be moderating a roundtable discussion on “Montana, Mining, and Money” at a “Great Conversations” event in Helena on November 16. More details as I know them.
